The SWOT technique for Relationship

How to apply The SWOT technique – World is an epitome of challenges. Men and Women today are equally competing in each and every aspect, be it job, salary, partying, friends, socializing, parenting etc.

Its no longer only a man’s world. A few decades back financial responsibility of family was considered solely as male responsibility, now the scenario has changed entirely. No wonder that women have become far more successful in handling their careers as well as maintain a healthy personal life. If they are a good boss they also are efficient mothers.

It becomes quite difficult to take decisions in life when such a dominating man and an ambitious woman start a family.

How to find solutions by avoiding useless arguments and make life a better place to live.

A quick Strength-Weakness-Opportunity-Threat SWOT  analysis can be a quick way to be used in solving any issues in life. It can handle this perfect conflicting scenarios where partners could fight for equal power and dominance in a family

1. Listen to each other before coming to any decision

Let’s take example : Husband wants to buy iPhone and Wife wants to buy jewellery and considering budget issues either of one can be bought.

Applying SWOT and discussing with each other can help solve problem. Consider what could be the strength  i.e what could be the positive side or benefits of buying something for the home. Now consider the negative points also. It should not be about dominance or overruling each other decision. Best is to talk and come to an agreement.

2. Give a space to each other

Eg. Husband has to attend a cousin’s marriage where both are invited but wife has been invited to a office party where only wife is invited.

Which one to choose ?- There is no perfect answer.

Understand each other’s demands and need of the hour and take up mutual decisions . Giving space even in a committed relationship can  help solve problems more efficiently.

3. There is no right or wrong in relationship

Even though you do not like what your partner is doing. Don’t lose patience and get angry.

You can convey and ask yourself – what you can do to overcome what he/she is doing.  Instead of just shouting, help each other in day-to-day life.  Keep improving your relationship

Why to worry in any situation ? – For me, SWOT(Strength-Weakness-Opportunity-Threat) analysis is the best solution and I have successfully implemented in all possible scenarios to come up with right solutions.

I hope it could also help you someday.
